The Mamilla Hotel is part of the larger design for Mamilla Center, a central business and mixed-use district in Jerusalem. The hotel is designed to fit within the surrounding historic neighborhood context rising out of a network of alleys which connect the walled and the new cities of Jerusalem.
The 194-room hotel is located in the heart of Jerusalem alongside the city's new shopping and entertainment area the Alrov Mamilla Avenue, with its views of the Old City walls, the Tower of David and Jaffa Gate. The hotel includes a rooftop restaurant and lounge, an event hall and a high end spa. The hotel architecture combines historic and modern details representative of its location. It's limestone walls and terra-cotta tiled roofs create material continuity with the surrounding historic buildings. Inside the hotel a minimalist aesthetic contextualizes and frames the historic Jerusalem architecture. The hotel is designed in collaboration with the Italian designer Piero Lissoni.
